 About the team

League started with JIS in 1991. The founders of the JIS team were Jim Herbert, Roger Brumby and Murray Barakat.

Comprising teachers, students and associated groupies from the Jakarta International School, the team boasts the best pitch in Indonesia.

Normally night creatures that wilt in the light of day, the players surprised themselves with a daylight win in the JIFL Cup Final in 2002.

 Players

Butch Koltai: The Hungarian Shirt Ripper, who tries to compensate his lack of skills and speed by pulling and sometimes ripping opponents' shirts. Used to be our youngest / fastest and fittest player. We all still wonder what happened ? Still a strong force in attack and regular goal scorer (11 years).

Doug Slusher: (US) Used to be faster than lightning and was our best 'mover' of the ball. However since he has married... Still our main assist man (13 years).

Uli Pfeil: (Austrian) Der Bomber landed at JIS Xmas 2003. Has the physique of der bomber (legendary Bayen Munich striker) but not his scoring record quite yet, he stops scoring after 10 goals per season. We are still waiting and hoping for more goals to come (5 years).

Andreas: (Polish) One of the most  experienced League players. He even had a (shameful) spell with the Frogs in his early Jakarta days before joining JIS. Still our reliable Polish Pole in Goal (50 + years).

Uwe Luedecke: (Co-Captain, German) How did we ever end up with a German in our team, when even German Plus rejected him ? He is for sale, in case you need a very (un)reliable and slow sweeper, who never shuts up, but overall not too bad for his age 50+, our most senior now (11 years).

Owain Jones: (Welsh) Nickname Vinny after former Wimbledon scumbag Vinny Jones. Say no more !  Scored the JIS goal of the season in 2002 vs Wanderers. The only player who always needs his driver to get him home after the games (10 years).

Lance Murgatroyd: (South Africa): The "Beckam' of JIS who takes all corners and most free kicks with his silky right foot. Unfortunately, unlike the Real one, he never scores any of his free kicks... One of our architects in midfield (9 years).

Mark Gray: (England English) Ruthless defender, who even comes after his own team mates if necessary.  Known for his never-ending rushes on the right wing. Has used his left foot once in his entire career (to stamp on some Indian leg...) be aware of his back headers (15 years)

Jurrien Sietsma: (Dutch, Captain) Used to score a lot of goals with his head, but seems to have lost his touch (and speed) after a serious back injury. Is playing as defensive midfielder now, since he doesn't have the legs anymore to rule (and run) the attacking midfield (11 years).

Stephane Thos: (France) First frog ever to play for JIS. Great addition to the team despite his nationality. Beware of his temper! We stopped counting his yellow cards! (5 years)

Gordon Boyd: Our skillful midfield general, who creates goals for others and scores himself as well. Unfortunately the new job with 1000 Vitamines costs him some important games (8 years on and off).

Will Julius: (USA) Our youngster in the team, another scoring machine on the left wing, we expect more from him in the years to come after fully recovery from his injury in April 2008 (3 years)

Harry “Bond” Langbroek: (Dutch) another JIS alumni with celebrity status and sometimes legal problems, very unreliable due to his permanent shootings for silly TV shows (8 years)

Bob Scholten: (Dutch) the youngest Dutch player we have, is improving and is the aerial king in defense, learning fast from the Dutch captain and will most likely substitute more often the German co-captain (2 years)

Mike Brumby: (England) Again a JIS alumni coming back to the roots, is increasing our attack danger and made it to top scorer in his first year with us. Beware when you see him in bars at night, very dangerous…. (2 years)

David Suarez: (USA) comes from time to time, fast without real skills, but keeps smiling and enjoys his 5 good actions/crosses per game, has sometimes strange priorities… (4 years)

Neco Lambey: (Belize) People people! Our only ex-professional, played for Belize premier league, although we are not sure if this really exists, got promoted to midfielder after too many mistakes in defense (3 years)

Maurice Bloem: (Dutch), old JIS dad and ex-Knudde player, joined us to keep fit, but seldom in town with his new job, also he is scoring once in a while…. (2 years JIS) before 8 years Knudde

Benny Saputra: (Indonesia), our only Indonesian player, belongs to the Uwe family with bad German influence, has usually his 20 minutes of fame and scores from time to time to his own surprise

JIS Supporter Fan Club

Our only 2 members make almost every game and have to be named here: Kristan Julius (mother of current player Will) and Roland Litsberger (father of ex-player Georg).
